Side Tournament: Speedrunners
DESCRIPTION
Huh, SpeedRunners in a fighting game tournament?! That's right, the community chose this hectic multiplayer platformer as one of the community tournaments in Skill Issue. You might be the best at hitting your anti-airs under pressure, but are you the best at picking up items, running, jumping and swinging off of a grappling hook? Prove it!
RULESET

Version: PC;

Format: 4 Rounds of 4 Player Free-for-all Swiss into 1v1 Double Elimination Top 8;

3 Games are played under the default game ruleset (3 rounds to win). After each game, every player scores a point for each round won and the player who won the game gets an additional point;

In case of a tie that interferes with this (e.g: 2nd and 3rd place tie), one game under the default ruleset is played as a tiebraker, with whoever wins proceeding;

If the amount of tournament entrants doesn't allow for a "clean" 2 rounds of 4 Player Free-for-all games, the brackets will be seeded so that no games in the first rounds are played with less than 3 people;

After the 2 rounds, points are tallied and used as a basis for seeding the 1v1 portion of the tournament;

Stage Selection: Random every game (only the stages available in the base version of the game);
